What is an SSL Certificate?
Using an ssl certificate, information between the user and the buyer is transmitted encrypted so that no one can monitor or intercept it. Depending on how strong this security system is, the cost of an SSL certificate goes up.

How does an SSL certificate work?
1. The Browser (Internet explorer, Safari, Firefox, etc.) of the user-buyer checks the certificate to 'make sure' that the site to which it links is genuine.
2. The Browser determines the type of encryption so that it can use it together with the web server that hosts the site so that both can 'understand' it
3. Browser and Server send each other unique passwords to be used when encrypting information
4. The Browser and the Server, now communicate through encryption, the browser displays the corresponding icon so the websites are considered secure.
